• Message to Parents

    Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to gather information about the organization your son is considering joining. We hope that your visit to our website allows you a glimpse of who we are as a social fraternity. We are proud of all we have to offer to the young men of Cal Poly. Since 1988, the chapter has fostered a bond that is unique in a university community numbering around 20,000 students. Members enjoy a number of benefits that can serve as a "safety net" ensuring an enjoyable and productive college experience. A member's involvement in our chapter can be divided up into three stages: Associate Member, Active Member, and Alumni.

    Associate Member
Associate members are on their way to being scholars, athletes, and gentlemen. Study hours are mandatory and fluctuate with events and testing and occur several times a week at the Robert E. Kennedy Library on campus.

Contact Justin Maroldi for scholastics information by emailing scholarship@cpdeltachi.com.

    Active Member

As an Active Member, the brothers take many responsibilities for the day to day operations of the fraternity. Every year, leaders are elected from the body to take on roles such as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant at Arms just to name a few. Also, chairs such as Rush, Social, Scholarship, Assoicate Member Counselor, Public Relations, T-Shirt Design and Philanthropy are all  available for active members to participate in and hold. Active members are expected to attend weekly meetings to discuss business points and vote on key issues. Active and associate members alike attend mandatory philanthropy events and are encouraged to maintain a high GPA.

    Alumni
Graduation does not mark the end of a member's involvement in the chapter. The Cal Poly Chapter is proud to have a strong and active alumni base that provides leadership and guidance to the chapter through varying network oportunities. Along with yearly alumni functions and an Alumni Board of Trustees that helps to oversee the chapters executive board, Delta Chi offers a lifetime of memories.

We hope that this answers some of the question you might have about what it means to join our organization. Please, if you have any further questions not answered in the Parents FAQs, do not hesitate to contact me or any other chapter officer.

    Sincerely,

    Matt Freie
