Delta Chi - California Polytechnic State University

Congratulations to our newly initiated 20 man Alpha Psi class! Over the past 10 weeks they have really come together as Associate Members and we are excited to see what they will bring to the house. So far they have constructed a new banner for our rush booth and repainted the original. They impressed us with their philanthropy and fundraising events as well. Check back for updates later this quarter about Spring rush, as we are expecting another large class due to deferred recruitement.

The chapter is excited to have pinned a 28 man Associate MEmber class, after going through Cal Poly's first impacted deferred recruitment process the Alpha Chi's are working hard. As usual they come from all over the state. They held their class elections and have begun planning philanthropy and PR events for their Associate Member process, as well as getting to know the active brothers of the house. Check back for pledge class updates throughout the quarter!!

With a current chapter size of about 110 members, Delta Chi has worked hard to create an organization of brotherhood this is motivated to increase involvement within the community and on campus. "I think [Delta Chi] is unique in its diversity, I know a lot of houses on campus have general stereotypes put on them, and I haven't been able to find a stereotype of us yet. It's always interesting to hear why guys joined the house, and every reason is different as we get new guys," Delta Chi president James Moody said. "It's just a bunch of diverse people coming together for a cause, everyone is different and yet we all work together to accomplish things." fraternity brother John Corgel said. The fraternity's annual Sorority Kickball Tournament is to take place during Spring quarter in hopes to support and raise money for the Jimmy V Foundation in the fight against cancer. The foundation is a national charity recognized by all Delta Chi chapters. It sponsors research and treatments for all forms of cancer. "We look for any outside philanthropies to get involved with and show our support," Corgel said. The fraternity has a large presence on Cal Poly's campus. Many members in Delta chi are actively involved with the Interfraternity Council, Associated Students Inc., and many hold positions on the board of directors.
